A US Navy Veteran, Dave opened his first dispensary called D&M Compassion Center in 2005. In 2008, Dave opened Sonoma Patient Group in Santa Rosa and sold D&M Compassion Center. Dave also sponsored Lake Counties first Medical Cannabis Cup.
That same year Dave was an auditor in some of the early Oaksterdam classes and in 2009 started teaching at Oaksterdam both in Oakland and the North Bay campus.
