Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you offer financial assistance for those on a fixed income? A: Unfortunately, no. We do not profit from running Oaksterdam University in any way and need your tuition to recover some of that loss. Q: I missed my class(es), can I be refunded? A: If you know you are going to miss your class, please let us know as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A FEE FOR ANY CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING. The fees are as follows: $75 for Packages, $100 for semesters and $100 for Glassworks. No refunds for missed classes or cancellations with less than 7 days notice. Q: Is there a test? A: There is an optional test for those who have completed all 101, 102 or semester classes. Semester students must attend all 13 classes and pass all the homework assignments and test in order to become certified. Students who pass the tests with a 75% or higher will receive certification from Oaksterdam University. Q: What are the benefits of certification? A: If you are applying for a job at a dispensary, our certification program will give you the advantage in the selection process over someone who has NOT received certification. Certification shows that you have taken all of our courses and have met our standards of knowledge in the cannabis industry. Once receiving certification from us, you are encouraged to list Oaksterdam University under "special training". Dispensaries can then call and verify with us that you are a graduate in good standing. Q: I love what you're doing! Do you accept donations? A: We do not currently accept donations. The best way for you to show your support is by purchasing Oaksterdam University products from the Oaksterdam Giftshop. Q: Can I pay my tuition with a credit card? A: We accept cash (if you register in person), checks, money orders, Visa and Master Card. Please make checks payable to "Oaksterdam University". Q: Do I have to list all of my personal information on my enrollment form? A: Absolutely, yes. Once we receive payment from you, we will need to contact you to confirm your registration. Failure to provide accurate information means that we cannot guarantee that you have a seat for your class. We do not share your information with anyone. Q: Can I take classes at OU even if I don't live in CA? A: Yes! Anyone can take our classes, and if you are coming from out of town you may want to consider the Oaksterdam Tour Package. Q: Do I have to be a medical cannabis patient to take your courses? A: No, you do not. You only need to provide proof that you are 18 years or older and have an interest in ending cannabis prohibition. |
