Oaksterdam University is proud to present its first Summer Lecture Series. This is your chance to hear the legends of the cannabis legalization movement not only speak, but to also socialize with them afterwards. Each session includes a one hour lecture, followed by a half hour of questions and answers, and concludes with an opportunity to mingle with the speaker. Seating is very limited.

TOPIC: DENNIS PERON'S RECIPE FOR SOCIAL CHANGE


A gay activist, hippie, and Vietnam veteren, Dennis Peron is considered to be the founding father of the medical marijuana movement in the United States. After losing many of his friends to the AIDS epidemic, Dennis began fighitng for the legalization of cannabis in San Francisco. Dennis opened California's first medical marijuana dispensary, "The Mothership", which exsisted with an uneasy truce with the city of San Francisco. Dennis later went on to be one of the co-authors of California's Proposition 215. Shot by the San Francisco Police Department, raided by the DEA, and jailed for his beliefs, Dennis Peron will forever be known as a hero in the cannabis legalization movement.

Dennis will be speaking on the history of the cannabis legalization movement, his personal experiences, and will deliver a message of hope and inspiration to everyone.
