Certification to Launch Your Career
Cannabis dispensary workers are the front line of the cannabis industry and help navigate product options for customers. They must understand how cannabis and cannabis products produce their effects and be able to convey dosing and safety information to customers.
A core element of working in a cannabis dispensary is familiarity and compliance with state law. In this course, we break down core concepts of dispensary work as well as provide a foundational understanding of federal and state laws and regulations.
This course covers the laws and regulations that budtenders must adhere to and the knowledge they need to provide accurate, lawful information to customers in the State of California. Completion of this course will provide a clear understanding of the laws surrounding possession and purchasing limits, consumption and travel, penalties for breaking these laws, and an understanding of the regulatory bodies that oversee cannabis businesses. In addition, it will cover security systems, ID verification, exit bag policy, delivery, hours of operation, and the supply chain. Acquiring proficiency in this course will allow budtenders to act in their role with knowledge, security, and professionalism.

- Identify legal operating hours.
- Recognize valid identification and the proper use of digital ID verification systems.
