OU’s Dale Sky Jones Nominated for Lifetime Achievement Award

Oaksterdam University’s Dale Sky Jones is nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award in the 2024 Women’s Canna Awards alongside Sue Taylor, Aundre Speciale, and Kimberly Cargile.

The public is invited to vote, with $1 per vote donated to the Saving Sophie Foundation

Nominees will be honored at a banquet, 4-11 p.m. March 30, 2024 at EK Gallery in Los Angeles.

“I am thrilled to be recognized in such good company of female leaders in the industry,” Dale says.

The Women’s Canna Awards are hosted annually by Aurora Society, a non-profit organization that honors women in disruptive industries.

Dale is being recognized for her work as the original spokesperson for the modern cannabis legalization movement, which is captured in the award-winning documentary “American Pot Story: Oaksterdam” premiering on the nationwide indie film festival circuit now.

Dale currently serves as Executive Chancellor of Oaksterdam University, providing education and workforce training to individuals, businesses, and regulators across the country and around the world.

She is also wife to fellow industry pioneer Jeff Jones and the mother of three.

“If you vote for me, know it is in the spirit of uplifting all women in the name of a good cause, and all the nominees are deserving of this award,” Dale says.

Of the other nominees, Taylor is co-founder of Farmacy Berkeley, and founder of iCANN and Mama Sue Wellness.

Aundre Speciale traveled California on Jack Herer’s Hemp Bus in the 1990s, and has been a lifelong advocate for the healing powers of the plant. She currently co-operates CBCB in Berkeley, Calif., one of the country’s oldest dispensaries.

Kimberly Cargile has spent almost two decades advancing the industry as an activist, educator, business leader, cultivator, manufacturer and dispensary operator.
